The TAYLOR name has been linked with the UK lock industry since 1923. Designs by the Taylor Lock Company for Yale and Ingersoll have stood the test of time with many locks still installed and operational after half a century of use. Now all Taylor products and innovative designs are sold through IDS Technology.

Over 20 years ago, the Taylor Lock Company designed the Taylor 3000, one of the first electric locks introduced to the UK market. In 2007, the Taylor 3500 series of locks was conceived as the next generation with a number of advances over the older Taylor 3000 lock.

Today, the Taylor Lock Company in association with IDST and other associates provides quality products to meet the demanding security needs of residential, commercial and industrial properties and provides a range of top quality electric locks compatible with access control and remote actuation systems for security markets, worldwide.

The Taylor Lock Company designs innovative locks and works closely with IDST and its manufacturing partners to translate these designs into high quality products for security and access control applications and markets.

The Taylor Lock Company sells these products through IDST to installers and end users via a typical lock supply chain consisting of wholesalers, distributors, architectural ironmongers and building supply stores.

In addition to this route the Taylor Lock Company works closely with Specifiers (typically architects, surveyors, security consultants) and System Integrators who, in turn, propose and implement the use of its products as part of Integrated Security Management and Access Control Systems. This could be for residential sites or for multi door/multi site commercial and industrial complexes.

The Taylor Lock Company also interacts with IDST and specialist technology providers who are keen to explore and collaboratively exploit the technology convergence opportunities that arise from the juxtaposition of traditional lock engineering and electronic actuation.

Taylor locks can be operated over the internet (using personal computers or 3G mobile phones) or through wi-fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee etc.
